Happy Half Birthday to Me
I have jumped on the bandwagon of creating a list of 30 things to do before I turn 30. I started on my 29th birthday, and I have 6 months left to go. I’m doing...ok. I had some plans fall through so I’m pretty sure I won’t get to complete all of them, but I’m at least going to try. Some of them are bigger and more exciting than others, and some are things I’ve been meaning to do for a while and this is a way to force me to do it. So, in no particular order, here is my list of 30 things to do before I turn 30.
- Move to another country (plan is in progress at the moment)
- Visit (at least) one new state (this is the one I’m pretty sure won’t be happening)
- Visit (at least) one new country
- Get a tattoo (my mother’s going to kill me if she reads this)
- Dye my hair a crazy colour (only dyed it normal colours before)
- Donate blood (have done before but haven’t done in a while)
- Get a manicure (have gotten one before but it’s kind of nice so want to go again)
- Finish t shirt quilt (massive undertaking that’s been in progress for years...)
- Vote (yes, I am ashamed I have never done this before)
- Pay for someone’s coffee (drive thru pay it forward style)
- Make another photo book (tons of pictures, need something to do with them)
- Take a class (glass blowing, super fun)
- Go to a professional sporting event (saw the Maple Leafs play for the first time)
- Take a photo a day for a year (so far I’m on track)
- Ride a rollercoaster (I’m not a *huge* fan, but they’re fun and I’ll probably need someone to drag me on one)
- Do (or have signed up for) a race/mud run (did a few of these in the past and I think they’re fun and it’s a way to, hopefully, force me to get active again)
- Go to a show at the theatre (Broadway or West End type show)
- Read 30 books (used to read a ton, now not so much)
- Watch one new movie a month (so far on track for this one, I don’t seem to watch many movies and when I do I end up going for ones I’ve seen already)
- Watch Game of Thrones (late to the party but I’ve wanted to watch it for a while)
- Order a subscription box (I know most of the time they’re not worth it but they look like so much fun. A present to you from you but you don’t know what it is!)
- Find a hobby (this is pretty vague. Photography? Knitting? Blogging? Something else entirely?)
- Stay of social media for at least a week (I find myself just aimlessly spending so much time scrolling through social media for basically no reason)
- Write a letter (or snail mail of some kind) to someone every month (on track for this one so far)
- Do a puzzle (I have a few that I just haven’t gotten around to pulling out)
- Buy a new “leather” jacket (mine died last year and I’m so sad)
- Visit where the Stewart’s are from (both my mom’s mom and dad were Stewart’s before they got married and their parents were born in Scotland, and possibly Ireland)
- Do an escape room (are these still cool or are they fading out?)
- See Home Free again (favourite musical group, traveled to Alaska from the Yukon this summer to see them for the 3rd time)
- Celebrate 30 somewhere awesome (I have 6 months left to plan)
So, what do you think of my list? Do you have a list of your own? Let me know
Awesome! I like your list. All the best on your journey, hope you get to complete your list, even if it is after 30. Still working on mine, and might add some of yours to my list :)
